To mark Giving Tuesday on 3 December, support your historical heritage by making a donation to the Grand Cairn de Barnenez.

The Grand Cairn of Barnenez is taking part in Giving Tuesday

Every year, the #GivingTuesday movement dedicates a day to generosity: donations of money, time, goods, blood, or a voice – all forms of generosity are celebrated!

The Grand Cairn of Barnenez, rediscovered in 1955, is the largest megalithic mausoleum in Europe and overlooks Morlaix Bay. Built during the Neolithic period (4,500 to 3,500 years BC), it stands as a unique testament to the funeral rites practised by the people who were settling down at that time.

If you love France’s heritage and are keen to ensure it is passed on to future generations, we need your support to continue protecting it, restoring it, showcasing it, bringing it to life through a varied cultural programme, and opening it up to an ever-wider audience.

By supporting your favourite monument, you are helping to preserve and pass on the treasures of the Cairn de Barnenez.

Make a donation

A tax-efficient donation

If you are a private individual, regardless of the amount of your donation, 66 per cent of the sum is deducted from your income tax (up to a limit of 20 per cent of your taxable income). For example, a donation of €100 actually costs you €34 and entitles you to a tax relief of €66. If this relief exceeds 20 per cent of your taxable income, the excess can be carried forward for five years.

If you make a donation on behalf of your company, regardless of the amount:

  • 60 per cent of the amount is deducted from your corporation tax, up to €2 million
  • 40% for the portion of the donation exceeding this amount

In accordance with the Act of 1 August 2003 on patronage, associations and foundations, the amount of the tax relief is capped at 0.5 per cent of turnover excluding VAT, and may be carried forward over five tax years.

The Grand Cairn de Barnenez extends its warmest thanks to its patrons and donors.
